Its killing me and please tell me how to fix it the best way? I got client 203. Have to change client? Please explain me how and where cuz this rubberband effect is KILLING me, pretty literally. I get drawnbackw hile moving, i mvoe like 40-50% slower because of that. When opening doors, when casting spells. I even adjusted mypvping to it lol, but its really annoying and I need a fix asap :|

I have it since day 1, if I'm not mistaken... I think it can't be solved as it's your computer's fault for not being able to handle the client RAM usage, I guess you'll have to cope with it as I do lol - it's a pain circling houses and turning before the turn because you were casting a spell...
Anyway I'm just guessing, it might be fixable after all...

Rubberbanding is mostly down to the overzealous anti-speedhack thing.
I used to get it a lot on 512k ADSL (Rendering me slower than some PTs

).

I ping average 40ms, don't think that's the problem...

I heard that it didn't occur at some clients, so I would like to know who uses the 'right' client and which that is ofcourse, where to download it or how to install it too ^^

I didn't use to have the problem (much) with 203, but that's been a long long time ago. I recently logged in with the new client (509) and found that every couple steps I would bounce back, which pretty much makes the shard unplayable for me. However, I don't believe it is a client problem because using the latest clients on osi I haven't even remotely had this problem, so I think it is a matter of latency and poor shard maintenance. It's really hard to go from pinging <20 and having not even the slightest hint of lag to not being able to move.

203 works almost 100% fine for me except periodically breaks and crashes using cures\going throw gates. Unfortunelly 509.1 lags too much for even trying out...

Well I think that my rubberband effect has more something to do that I run too fast instead of that I lag :|. Its like they dont want me to pwn every1 h2h so they pull me back

edit: typos

Your pc can be a beast, you'll still be no better off than the guy with the heap of crap thats falling apart next to you
The "elastic" effect is latency related, there was at one point an actual article on the webby long ago explaining what why the game makes your character respond in the elastic way etc
I've found it to be a predominant thing with fast hitting targets, i.e. demons tend to pull you back (noticed in one of the arenas with a demon in it, once it hit you, you rely on it missing to actually get away from it without dying)

I'll repeat and clarify.
If your ping is too low, you'll rubberband. ~20ms seems to be totally fine for me now. Before I was moved over to 8mbit and interleaving turned on, I would rubberband a lot (Pings from 11 - 13ms).
Not really sure how you'd fix it other than getting a worse ISP

I ping 100. On a side note, I remember seeing that script you were talking about, or something similar. I think in its first incarnation it sent you to jail?
